PerfectFit has launched a new campaign via the crowd funding site indiegogo which looks to bring an “antimicrobial” screen protector that it dubs “CleanShield.”
Imagine if all phone and tablets we use every day—were protected from the growth of bacteria, fungus, mold and other microbes that can build up and cause unclean surfaces and limit the functional life of your screen protector. Now imagine cleaner, stronger and longer lasting screen protection. That, in a nutshell, is the idea behind CleanShield!
CleanShield is a high optical clarity made in the USA screen protector infused with an EPA registered antimicrobial ionic-silver technology that provides continuous 24/7 protection against the growth of bacteria, fungus, mold and other damaging microbes.
Silver-silver ions are small enough to be transparent. They are also mobile enough to flood the surface of the film. Air moisture activates the release of silver ions from their cage, which, in turn deters bacterial growth on the surface of the film.
Basically, we use our devices everyday and they aren’t always in the cleanest of areas. To deal with this problem and help all our screens stay cleaner, CleanShield was made. According to the page, it is EPA registered, made in the USA, fingerprint resistant and won’t leave residue if you decide to remove it at some point. If you are a clean freak or someone that is afraid of germs, this is for you.
Your cell phone contains over 25,000 Bacteria per square inch! Studies have shown that the average smart phone is a breeding ground for bacteria, fungus, mold and other damaging microbes. In fact, the average cell phone is up to 16 times dirtier than a public toilet seat. The use of disinfectant wipes and sprays can actually damage the surface of your touch screen device and must be constantly reapplied to even be effective.
If you are interested, they have an early bird special at $7, and it comes for the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, and Galaxy S4. I would pick one up now if you want one, because they will retail for $20, so you’re saving!
